Three Ways to Make the Most of Your Glass Shower Doors

Many bathrooms now have glass shower doors in them because they create such a stylish look. If you have glass shower doors in your home, knowing how to properly maintain them can sometimes be a bit tricky. The guide that follows will walk you through a few simple ways to make the most of your glass shower doors.
Prevent Buildup
When you shower, the body wash and shampoo you use to clean your body and hair can actually create a film on the surface of your glass shower doors. To prevent the film from developing on the doors, rub a small amount of shaving cream on the doors while they are dry. Leave the cream on the doors for a few minutes and then wipe it away with a clean dry rag. The shaving cream creates a barrier and will leave your glass film-free.
Remove Artwork
A glass shower door can often become a great place for toddlers to show off their artistic ability. If your son or daughter got their hands on a permanent marker and decided to create a masterpiece for you on the shower door, do not panic. Place a few drops of hand sanitizer on a clean rag and wipe away the mess quickly and easily. Once the artwork has been removed with the hand sanitizer, place a little bit of rubbing alcohol on a rag and wipe away any film that was created by the hand sanitizer to create a streak-free finish on the glass shower doors.
Create Some Privacy
One huge issue with glass shower doors is that they do not afford you much privacy. If you love the doors, but want to create some privacy, consider etching the glass. You can buy etching cream at just about any craft store. You can use a stencil or free hand a design on the door with the cream. Leave it in place for a five to ten minutes and then wipe the excess cream away with a wet rag. It takes just a few minutes to do and will give you the privacy you need to be able to shower in absolute comfort.
